MODEL MONDAY! Meet our model Elloise

Hi Elloise! Thanks for chatting with me today, why don’t you start by telling us a little bit about yourself?
Hey! Okay well I grew up on the Northern Beaches, I’m 16 years old, almost 17! (woohoo) I’m currently in year 11 at school and working at Bakers delight.

What five words would your friends use to best describe you?
Crazy (at times!), caring, loyal, outgoing and a good sense of humour!

What was it about modelling that first intrigued you? How did you initially get into the industry, being so young?
Modelling intrigued me because of all the background elements, a tonne of preparation goes into each shoot and there’s always so much happening behind the scenes. I find it really fascinating to watch the process as it evolves into the perfect shot!
I was actually scouted while tagging along to a model workshop my best friend was attending. She and six other models were all practising their walk for fashion week and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time!

Tell me a little bit about your first modelling job. What was it like and how did you feel?
My first job was super exciting! I was really happy to have landed the job and to have someone professionally doing my makeup was really cool! My first shoot was tricky. I hadn’t done anything like it before, hadn’t had any experience with model positions/poses and just really wasn’t sure how it all worked! Luckily, it turned out great in the end thanks to the photographer & team who really guided me through it all, mostly though I remember being freezing cold out in the open at the Bondi Beach ocean pool!

How does it feel being the new face of an online store and having your pictures splashed all over the place?
It’s very cool! Super fun knowing I’m representing the store but also a little strange, everywhere I look I see myself!

Tell us a little bit about your personal style, do you have any designers you admire?
I have a very quirky/weird style! I’m inspired by Japanese street fashion, it’s so funky and super different from anything else. My favourite designers would have to be Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs and John Galliano, to name a few!

If you could share one of your beauty secrets, what would it be?
Egg whites! Apply them to your face and it leaves your skin so damn smooth!

What is your daily skin care and make up routine?
My daily skin routine would be moisturise, apply foundation, powder, loads of mascara, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner and sometimes a little bronzer or eye-shadow.

What makeup brands are you loving right now?
Bobbi Brown!

If you were to be stranded on an island, what one item could you not live without?
A bed! Can we throw in my dressing gown too? :)

Are you an apple or an android girl?
Apple, Apple, Apple!

Have you done much traveling? If so, where have you been and what was your favourite place?
I haven’t been to many places, but I have been to Dubai twice now and Hawaii. I have a trip planned in September to Fiji that I’m super excited about! MY favourite place would have to be Dubai, it’s so different from Australia and was the coolest experience I’ve ever had.

A question I’m sure you’re asked on a regular basis, what are your plans once you finish school?
Well, I hope to be an Interior Designer or a Fashion Designer (while continuing to model!)

Being so young, how do you manage to juggle school, modelling, work, friends, parties and hobbies all at the same time?
I must admit I am not the best at juggling these things! However I am getting better. Mostly I leave my weekdays free for school work- except Thursdays! Thursdays are my break days, I like to hang out with my friends or just relax. I tend to do most of my modelling work through the school holidays when I’m available for all day shooting.

Speaking of hobbies, when you’re not gracing the pages of online stores or featured in magazines, how do you best enjoy spending your time?
My number one favourite hobby is art! I love to paint and draw. I’ll spend hours and hours on any piece of art.

And last but not least from the photo shoots you’ve done with us so far, what are your favourite items in the store?
Wow, that’s a tough one! I think all the pieces are pretty amazing, my favourites would have to be the red floppy hat, Cross My Heart Jumper, First Kiss Dress and pretty much all the jewellery!

Thanks Elloise for chatting with us, we look forward to seeing plenty more of you in the future!
